Hi! I’m Stephanie …

I’m a portrait and lifestyle photographer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I’m a visual storyteller who captures your most treasured people, places, and things so you can cherish them forever. Father Time is not your friend, but I am. ;)

Random Facts About Me

I was born and raised in south Texas. My family’s roots go back to the 1700s and I have two direct ancestors who were survivors of the Battle of the Alamo.

Pretty sure the Sorting Hat would’ve placed me in Ravenclaw, even if I did ask for Gryffindor. I’m a book nerd who loves Jeopardy and crossswords lol

I also love dark chocolate (the darker the better), Mexican coke, 60-degree days, dresses with pockets, and Anthropologie.

Every Fall, I embrace my basic b-ness and indulge in the infamous Pumpkin Spice Latte. I’ve been ordering it since it was first released. How can I stop now?!

I went to college in Chicago and got to know that city intimately. The Windy City and I basically dated and it will always have a piece of my heart.

I love travel and will happily tag along to document your family vacation or destination elopement if that’s something you’re interested in!

I’m a certified Reiki Master Teacher who loves to geek out on all things energy! Oh, and I’m also a Human Design nerd/wannabe analyst. Which totally makes sense as a 3/5 Quad Right Mental Projector (#IFYKY)

About Stephanie

Over a decade ago, I left my Big Law job to start a photography business. Photography has been a passion since I first discovered the darkroom back in the 90s. I quickly realized that a little camera was the closest thing to a time machine that we’ll ever have. Life is fleeting and sometimes we don’t fully comprehend the beauty of a moment until it has passed. After losing a number of people very close to me at a young age, I learned not to let any moment pass too soon.

I first started shooting on an old Canon AE-1 borrowed from my high school and I developed all my film myself for over a decade. Now I shoot a hybrid of film and digital. Both have their perks and I just can’t choose one over the other. Playing with light and shadow in my photos and experimenting with textures, composition, and a mix of photojournalism + formal portraits in both formats have been part of my process for almost 30 years now.

I shot weddings and families primarily for the first six years of my career before branching out into commercial work where I collaborated with brands ranging from food to handbags to fitness and beauty products. While everyone else was “niching down” I was expanding my professional portfolio. I shoot the same way, regardless of subject, so why limit myself when inspiration can be found nearly anywhere?
